About this site
ourwebsiteisbroken.online is a small fan-made guide built around one joke: the sign outside the Springfield DMV in The Simpsons episode Treehouse of Horror XXXVII that reads "VISIT OUR WEBSITE AT our-website-is-broken.org".
The episode aired on Fox on Sunday, October 25, 2026. The sign appears in the third segment, "Vehicular Dadslaughter", and within a day, screenshots of it were everywhere on 9gag and social media. People kept asking the same questions. Is the sign really in the episode? Is the website real? Which segment is it in? What happens if you visit the address? This site exists to answer those questions properly, in one place, with the details checked.
Here is what you will find here. The homepage covers the gag itself, the quick facts about the episode, and what the real .org address shows when you load it. Our posts go deeper: one breaks down the DMV sign scene and why it went viral, one walks through all three segments of the episode, and one looks at the show's long history of website and internet jokes.
A few honest notes about how we work. Episode facts such as air dates, segment titles and guest stars are checked against published episode guides and recaps before we write them down. When we describe what a website shows, we load it ourselves and describe only what is actually there. If something cannot be confirmed, we say so instead of guessing. If you spot an error, tell us in the comments and we will fix it.
What this site is not: it is not official. We are fans, not the show. This site has no connection to The Simpsons, Fox, 20th Television or Disney, and nobody involved in making the episode has anything to do with it. It is also not a DMV or any kind of government website, despite the name. We cannot renew your license, book you a driving test or fix a real broken website. We can only explain the joke, which, to be fair, is more than the Springfield DMV website ever did for anyone.
